Hi, I’m Alice Solis, founder and owner of AFS Counseling Services P.C.
For more than 20 years, I’ve worked in the mental health field, helping teens, adults, and families navigate some of life’s most challenging moments.
I earned my Master’s degree in Clinical Counseling from Roosevelt University and have been practicing psychotherapy since 2013. When I founded AFS Counseling Services, I wanted to create the kind of practice where people could feel genuinely heard and understood while receiving practical, evidence-based support.
I know that starting therapy can feel intimidating. You may not know exactly what to say, what you need, or whether therapy will actually help. You don’t have to know all of that before you begin.
My role—and the role of our team—is to meet you where you are, understand what you’re experiencing, and help you move toward where you want to be. Our goal isn’t simply to help you feel better today. We want to help you develop the confidence, coping skills, and emotional resilience to navigate future challenges more effectively.
Our work is rooted in the belief that mental health care should be accessible and meaningful—not only for the individuals we serve, but for the communities around us.
In addition to building AFS Counseling Services, I have remained actively involved in my community, including serving on the Police & Fire Commission Board and helping develop and support a community mental health program through a local Health District.
Starting therapy doesn’t have to feel overwhelming.
Our team provides virtual therapy throughout Illinois for teens and adults, making it possible to get support from the comfort and privacy of your own space.
When you’re ready, we’re here to help.
Starting therapy is a big step, and it’s okay to feel unsure. Take your time to explore your options and think about what feels right for you. We’re here to help you figure things out and support you while you make your decision.
